Drove as far as Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park just east of Butte, MT.   Had rain part of the way there so now the Jeep and motorhome are a mess.  However, on the bright side, no bugs stuck to the windshield and grill!

Took the drive up to the cavern, walked a few trails, back to the motorhome for dinner and a quiet evening.  Saw signs for the Prairie Rattler - will definitely be looking where we put our feet and making sure Baxter doesn't do any wandering around!

We were surprised to see almost no wildlife on our whole drive today, except a dead cow elk and a dead deer on the freeway.  We did see a largeblack hairy thing while on one of our walks, and Mike was able to capture a picture!

In the "things we learned today" column, we thought the following info might be helpful to those with small children or grandchildren:

Off to tour the cavern in the morning, and then headed for the Madison Buffalo Jump.  We will be looking only, not jumping!

Taking Baxter for one last walk before dark.
